If your only exposure to CAPTAIN AMERICA #101 was the 1977 reprinting in MARVEL SUPER ACTION #2 six of these panels are brand new to you!

  1. During this period, Marvel's story page count was lowered from 20 to 18.
As a result, reprints were edited from 20-22 pages to only 18.
Think of how tv stations edit reruns to make more commercial time.
Until the late 1970s, "1 hour" shows were actually 52 minutes not counting commercials.
Today's standard episode length is 46 minutes long, so stations cut about 6 minutes off the reruns to keep the amount of commercials per hour consistent.

  2. I find it hard to believe that the military, having observed the destruction "moving in an unbroken line" with then "don't know what goal it is seeking"...
Gee guys, ever hear of projecting the line???
